Heatherdale Runs for Guv this September
HEATHERDALE RUNS FOR GUV Imagine starting a walk at Guv’s house in Mitcham, walking to the MCG (a place Steve loved where he could watch his beloved Reds and the mighty Dees, and attend the Ashes), walking back out via Donvale, onto the Mullum Mullum trail and finishing at Schwerkolt Cottage, where Steve did his last walk in 2020 – that would be close to 72km. Not too hard! And you can space it out over all of September!! -Huge thank you to Kevin Oakey for your message and for creating this team . If the running (or walking) is not your thing, then please consider donating. If you want to know more about ‘The Long Run’ visit this link. https://www.thelongrun.org.au/ #dalesdoitbetter

The $6.23m project will serve to provide equitable facilities to all members, across female and male cricket and football throughout the entire community and push to be a hub for sport in the East. President Andrew Grealy acknowledged the "hard work and dedication of many Club members, particularly Kevin Oakey who has worked tirelessly to move this forward at Council level at a rapid rate. We've had great community support from our major partner Jellis Craig Whitehorse and also Councillor Prue Cutts who has advocated extremely hard for the members of her ward". Work on the new project will look to commence in July/August 2021, pending final approval at the 2021-22 Council Budget on Monday 28th June.
